by saying this you’re taking away from the fact that it’s the first superhero film starring an afrolatino. that by itself is incredibly groundbreaking- so don’t you dare take from Black and Latinx representation and make it about yourself.

op you’re literally arguing with a lesbian about lgbt representation and they’re TELLING YOU it’s not as important as the real message of the movie, that black and brown children have the potential to follow their dreams and accomplish great things. it’s disrespectful to deracialize the context of this movie by making generalizations like this– everybody already knows that masked heroes are a good metaphor for being lgbt. that’s NOT the groundbreaking theme that ITSV is emphasizing here, and it’s not cool to undermine the real one by saying The Whole Thing Is Just About LGBT Issues, which is what you did
